I don't know what is up with him. He seems healthy. but his coat looks globby. Is this normal? My water looks good parameter wise. All my corals and anemone seem to be doing good...black ocellaris clown is thriving.

Do you have a picture, also, has he been eating? It dosen't sound normal, we've had ours a month or so and his coat looks great. Is there any coral he sits on? Ours will spend most of the day sitting on top of some zoas, maybe he's sits on a coral thats causing a bad reaction?

He sits in a depression in the live rock. I'll post a picture when I get off of work. Thanks for the reply

...Dangit!

I couldn't get a pick off that really showed what was up...it looks bad. I wonder if it has to do with the flow and scraping up agianst the LR. Whatever, it is...it is not good.

I would put him in a quarantine tank if you have one, just in case it is the LR. By quarantining him, you will also be able to observe him more closely.

I had a clown a while ago and its coat started looking funny, and it turned out to be velvet. (I thought it was scrapping on a rock too) I would qt it and keep a close eye on it. If it is velvet, it kills quick. Our clown was fine when we noticed it, but it stopped eating one day, and the next is was dead. If it turns out to be velvet and you catch it in time, I think the treatment is hyposalinity and copper medicines, but don't quote me on it cause I could be wrong

He seems to be in good shape...his coat is back to normal and he probably has a healthy responsive immune system. Now if he eats or continues eating...he will live. His coat is back to normal...you should have seen him a week ago...man...it wasn't good:19:
