Anyone in here interested in Killies? I have Chromaphyosemion poliaki.
I'm thinking about getting some amano shrimp since I've heard they are great algae eaters (as well as savangers). Do you think this would work out or will the fish eat them?

The shrimps would most likely be eaten.

Umm perhaps a bristlenose catfish, they are medium size and very good alge eaters, and i dought they would get eaten.

I have a Golden Wonder Killie and he's probably my less favorite fish. He just floats on the top on day and does nothing very exciting.

thats to bad about your killie hobbs, i have two killie tanks, the bigger one i use a SAE to control the algea, the smallest one, a 2 1/2 gallon, i mearly use plants to out compete the algea. Also i let a few snails remain in the tank, those annoying snails that you get with plants are actually good for something as long as you keep the population down.

This might be a stpid question kimmers, but how does a puffer/other fish eat a snail? does it eat it out of the shell or eat the entire thing shell included? I have always wondered that...

it depends! most fish (that eat snails) have strong enough jaws to break the shell open and eat the good stuff inside, i'm sure that there are fish that eat the whole thing, and some that would suck the snail out of the shell if given the oppurtunity.
