hi, this is my first post here. i'm trying to start up an aquarium using an eclipse six setup i bought about 5 years ago. since i haven't used it in so long, the motor in the pump doesn't work now.

if i take the intake tube off of the motor so i'm only looking at the impeller wheel that draws in water, it will spin if i plug it in. but when i put the whole assembly together, it doesn't spin. i've checked for blockage on the magnetic part, and there's nothing in the way. any ideas? thanks!

edit...

i've narrowed down the problem, but i don't know the fix. there is a rubber tip on each end of the impeller shaft for the pump that sit in little holes. the rubber tips are sticking and preventing the shaft from spinning. if i take them off, it spins freely, but makes noise as it's rattling around. i'm assuming the tips were there to supress the vibration. is there any way to lubricate these? i'm assuming they come lubed from the factory, but since i haven't used this in so long, they've dried out.
