I just found out one of my dwarf gouramis has ich. This same one also has some kind of parasite or something on its mouth too that I cant get rid of. Right now I have him in a 5 gallon bucket becuase I dont have any quarinine tanks and I dont want to risk the lives of my other fish. Im thinking about just letting the poor guy die. I would rather loose one fish then have him kill off the rest of my fish.

The parasite could be a mouth fungus. Pm hobbs, i know she has had experiance with mouth fungus, as one of her bala sharks had a mouth fungus.

This is what happens to many fish that are used to go thru a cycling. Their systems break down due to the constant stress and fungal diseases, fin rot and ICK are able to invade.

I would destroy it. It's not worth paying for all the meds (since he has more than one disease going on) to try to save a $2.00 fish.

I was just bragging yesterday that I haven't had a fish die in a long time. Woke up this morning to a dead platy. He had been staying away from the others, sitting on the bottom a lot and was losing his color. I think he had just reached the end of the road as no disease was detected.

I have to agree with Hobbs.....a secondary disease leads me to believe that it just isn't a strong fish anymore and you will probably always have him getting something or another. Cycling is hard on fish, and although we know you did your best, sometimes it is best to let one go.

I didnt cycle my tank with my gouramis I got them after I cycled the tank. but he died sometime last night, Everything must have been too stressing for him. Im pretty sure the thing that put him under what the krib, After I had to house my krib with them he seemed more stressed out.
