I am going to buy a Subaru Legacy b4 twine Turbo. I will be getting one that is Navy Blue in the sedan body. I won't do any mods to it. Just stock standard.

So all I have to do is save up $10,000.00 and pay off my #10,000.00 Camry, which I will keep. So by that the time I have everything sorted I should be 20 which means the insurance will be less. Then I will be heading for the race track with it for some very genteel educated fun.:18: :18:

Yes I know these Subarus are not fuel efficient. But 25 mpg is fine by me. Also they can be quite expensive to fix, but that is besides the point. Being careful will help me in that case.

Great cars, and like you said expensive to fix. Just keep on top of maintenance, as they are picky about it. If you do that, you can get 300k+ miles on the motor without anything major being replaced.

good choice, subarus are good cars. just take care of it and it will cause you no problems. ive always taken care of my 92 nissan maxima and with 400,000km it still runs fine.

Thanks guys.
When I go on the track with it. I will only be driving with my self on the track. And I don't like pushing cars to hard. Just drive it like it is designed to. No burnout's or anything like that.

That is one thing I have heard from people I know who own these cars. That they live for a long time if look after.

As for KM on a car, I have only 36,000 on my Camry. So it has only started life. And I do not want it to have trouble. So I spend that bit to keep it alive.

Cheers for the advice.

I do burnouts in my car way too much...with a few warnings to prove it. Excessive acceleration from a stop and illegal screeching/squealing of the tires. :27:

It's good to have a goal but track driving a subaru? I've always considered them offroad or winter cars....not racing cars. Not sure what cars they have over there but to me track racing a subaru just sounds boring. They have mazda miata's over there? They're called the poor mans corvette here and with some tinkering can be very fun little track cars for cheap.

I've know many people with subaru's that have many miles on them here but none that race so it's hard to say how well they handle that kind of treatment.

I'd call mitsubishi's rally cars too.

just look at the chart of winners, mitsubishi won the Dakar rally 12/30 races, which is crazy

ive always wanted to enter the dakar rally but i would probably just rollover and die in the desert

Yes the Subarus are more of a simple car. But the one I want has been more designed to be a street racing car. Fast around corners with the all wheel drive and down the straits with the top end rpm, with the Turbos spooled up.

You always see Subarus on the race track which is only 5 minuets from my place. But I don't want to enter the one I want in any races. Really I just want to fart around on the track, and do some speeding down the straits.

Other wise I will just use it like my Camry as a commute car. More than likely I may even sell my Camry. Just thinking that is all. Right now if I drive past a cop check point I have never been stopped. While others in done up cars and anything that looks speedy are pulled over. So I am pleased. I am not noticed. COnsidering I sit at 5 kms over the speed limit on the highway and 5 kms over in town. So 55 kmp in town and 105 on the open road. SO far never been given a ticket.

I have done a few left and right hand burnout's in a old Camry but you could never do a full acceleration one from a standing stand. The car would not do one. But take a corner and then touch the accelerator then you would smoke up. But I don't do that in the new 1999 Camry which I have. To good a car. Plus it is only a Auto and it has only 36,000 km on the clock.

Cheers all,

Just thinking that will mean I will be spending around $25,000.00 on cars in the space of 3 years.

My old Jeep Wrangler had too much traction and torque without enough power to do a burnout. BUT in reverse it could:ssuprised:

I wouldn't even consider a frontwheel drive car doing anything called a burnout. I'm sure a few can but for the most part...NO

I do agree. But my 1992 Camry did. As for like other fronts I agree with you.

We use to own a 1991 3.8 v6 Holden Station wagon. That was rea-wheel drive. And it would have some fun at times getting of the line in a cloud of smoke.
