So exciting!

Hello everyone, I just "ran into" this site last night while researching and couldn't believe how awesome this website is.

I am a beginner freshwater aquarist. I started around a month ago by buying a 55 gal aquarium. Recently my tank finished cycling and I've been slowly adding fish the past couple weeks and am done stocking the tank.

Right now I have:
5 tiger barbs
7 lemon tetras
4 zebra danios
1 leopard danio
4 harleuin rasboras
2 clown loaches

My wife and I moved to Virginia from Pennsylvania about 6 months ago. I am a middle school math teacher (I teach 7th graders; an interesting age group) and my wife is a licensed veterinary technician.

I look forward to being a part of this well educated community. Thanks for creating a place like this to share knowledge and pick each others' brains.

very nice tank. You were smart in starting big. I started with a 10 gallon tank, a month and a half later I got a 55g tank. Now I just got a 29g tank, this should be my last....untill I move out of my parents house.:hmm3grin2orange:

No, the clinics that she has worked in mainly see dogs, cats, and some large animals (cow, horse). But while she was in school, a fish came in that they had to X-ray.
