I've had my Leopard Ctenopoma for a few months now., and he's one of my favourites. I saw these babies today at the store, and couldn't resist. They are very small...probably an inch in length. One is doing well, the other is probably not going to make it. I researched these previously, and they bring them in too small, and the survival rate is not good. I don't understand why they don't let them grow a little. There's a money back guarantee so they don't make money on dead fish...
BTW...Can anyone id the plant behind him. It was labelled Aquatic Christmas Plant, and I'm fairly confident that it's not the proper name...:hmm3grin2orange:

Yep...the only thing in the tank that might fit in their mouths when they get bigger are Otos.
Anyone recognize the plant?

Beautiful fish :1luvu:
The Christmas plant is usually the common name for the Myriophyllum elatinoides
But your plant is the Bolbitis heudelotii (African Water Fern) - wonder where they come up with the christmas name for it? LOL
It likes a strong filter flow to thrive so ideal for placing near the filter thumbs2:

Bolbitis will grow in any light...if you can keep a java fern alive then you can keep this baby alive also thumbs2:

Good luck with the fish and plant. I have a different kind of bolbitus which has not done very well. I may well change its position in the tank.

It's highly unlikely! Santa grumbles about the tanks I already have! One of the new little guys disappeared the first night, which I expected. This morning I can't find the other...which I didn't expect, as he was livelyand looked healthy. Frank's( Syno) tummy looks very large....:scry:
