How many fishes should I get for my 20g once its all fixed? I currently have a dwarf african frog and a mystery snail along with five harlequin rasboras. I was thinking about a bunch of cardinal tetras and maybe.. not sure but maybe some male guppies to add a little bit more flare but then again the cardinals have tons of color so I'm not sure..

Whats ur opinion? How many cardinals? yes or no on the guppies? More rasboras? (they seem happy now in their school so I'm not too worried about them)

TIA!!!

I would get morer Rasboras, they would look awsome in a large shoal!

Either would look great...I'm partial to a large school( in this case 10ish) of Cardinals.

i think you should get another frog with whatever else you choose to get. as they tend to be happier and more active with 2 or more of their kind.

The guppies would populate the tank nicely - all areas and especially the upper.

Adding cardinals would give you a lot of red fish hanging out near the middle and mid-bottom area, I think.

Whichever you decide, maybe leave bio-room for a blue, male betta or a dwarf guarami with vibrant blues to go with the red rasboras.

I never thought of getting another frog.. hmm thats something to think about. I definitely want to get some cardinals. How many? I was thinking 12. Then with those would I still be way under capacity for my tank? if so then I might get some more rasboras but they seem pretty happy in their little bunch.

As for the betta, I had been trying to look up whether or not a female betta would be too aggressive to keep in the tank with the little fish. Would she be ok? I've seen some really pretty ones that I would love to rescue from those tiny little cups they are sold in.

IMO, a 20 gallon with 2 schools of fish would look pretty cramped. I would just get more rasboras. They might be happy in their little bunch right now, but the more the merrier. I would get at least 3 more. And if you really want cardinals, maybe a school of 8 of them as well.

What type of filtration are you gonna be running?

With bettas it's a hit or miss, each one has a different behavior and personality so you might get one that is super sweet and doesn't pick on the other fish or you might get a real mean one that will go on a hunt for the other fish.

I have a biowheel meant for a 50g tank running on the 20g.
