Took this about a week ago and finally put it up on youtube. It's my male kenyi going at it with a female and then the other female comming in to help her sister out. Enjoy

Good job on the video. I love africans, but have never had a tank big enough to keep them, plus the aggression level is off the charts :)

Thanks, it's not the greatest but I tried. Catching them in a fight was 100% luck!

They are just darling. I generally don't wait for video's to load up with my slo[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] dialup here but watched your movie 3 times. I love it!

Is this tank planted? I didn't think cichlids could be in a planted tank? And I love those kenyi's. Now I have to go look them up. I would love to have a tank of those.

Aren't cichlids weird tho. My angels that are less than 3 months old are already chasing and "nose bumping" one another. You'd think they could at least grow up first.

Nice capture on the video! I loved it!

But........... I see you have yellow labs, which are mbunas. Mbunas need rock formations.

Like I've said in a previos thread, I have a very untraditional malawi tank. I do have plenty of hiding places for all the fish and they've never once disturbed my plants. The Kenyi's are always fun to watch as they do the shake for the males and chase each other around like there's no tomorrow. Great fish to have!

Oh, and Drumachine09, you must have a great eye to pick out that yellow lab, it's like a flash for a split second, good catch!

If you could have told me that the fish that swam towards the top of the screen in a quick flash was my Salousi then I really would have been freaked out!

OK. I've now looked at your video for the 5th time. LOL I love it and now I am all gung-ho for kenyi's. This is all your fault.

Thanks again everyone! The Kenyi's are by far my favorite fish in the tank to just sit and watch. They're always doing something that keeps my attention. My wife often wonders what I'm doing when I pull a chair up about 1 foot from the tank and sit there for EXTENDED periods of time.

Hobbs - Make sure you read up on those little buggers, they're HIGHLY aggressive with most fish and now that they're getting bigger in my tank they're actually starting to show slight aggression with my larger Salousi(ruler of the tank).

I know they are very aggressive and that worries me some. I don't want fish that are always under medical care. LOL I do like cichlids that always have color as these do, tho. I don't want a tank with two colorful males and all the rest brown.

I've already changed my mind a couple hundred times on what cichlids I want and will probably do so again. But for now, will keep looking at your video and enjoying YOUR work. :)

First off, I want to thank you Hobbs for my first gifts!!!! I'm so excited!!!

Another interesting thing about the Kenyi's is that the Males are Yellow and the Females are Blue... Backwards! just a little fyi
