By Bogey fish I mean a fish you can't keep alive in your tanks for
love nor money.
I've tried to stock German Blue Rams lot's of times but for some
strange reason I just can't keep them alive, the longest any have
lived is 3mths, most don't last that long.
I've kept Cichlids of all kinds not a prob, numerous other species
of fish as well, but GBR's I have given up on now.
Anyone else here got a Bogey fish?

My Bogeyfish is Clown Loaches. I've tried several times, and eventually all have died. I don't know what the problem is and I've done a LOT of research. They are my favourite fish, and I'm really disappointed. All my Clowns came from the same source, so that could have been a factor, I suppose.

My bogey fish has to be the pictus cat... I love 'em and every so often I'll pick one up hoping it lives for awhile but alas, they never do well. I have other catfish that I've had for 6 years, but the pictus is tough for some reason. I just bought another one, so we'll see how he does. :fish: :goldfish:

Mine has been the pleco also. I've upped my water changes to twice a month for over a year now, seems to be working.

Haven't tried Angels since I was a teen. They were a problem for me, might try again soon, now that I'm a big boy now!

yeah, it's been probably 5 years since I've had a pictus cat, and since I havn't had a fish die in over a year I'm trying the pictus again. Had him a week and so far, so good.

Hi,
Use to have Bogey fish. It was the Dwarf Rainbow fish. I soon found out why. It was the food I was feeding them. Apparently it was causing them to have Gastro Interites. So since i changed food types I have no problem.

As for your problem with your rams Brook I am sorry. But you never know one day you may get on top of the Bogey problem.

I know this thread kind of died out a few weeks ago, but I'm proud to say that I've had my bogey fish (pictus cats) 2 weeks now with no ill effects! They're eating like pigs too! I hope I'm over the fact that I've never been able to keep them successfully.

This will probably seem stupid but I could never keep mollies before, when I moved my tanks back home, I had two from my sister, but gave them away, but they lived.

Hey I saw one of those at the miami airport! it was in one of those "you can't bring these items on the plane" displays. Where did you get it? I've always wondered where people get those.

Anyway, I haven't got any bogey fish. I hope i never will!
