Would 2 schools of them in a 55 gallon work?

Hi,
IMO if you get Dwarf Checker Board Loaches, get more than 6. In a 55 gallon I would get 12 or so for that size tank. These fish are very active schoolers. And the more of them you have the happier they are so, I would get as many as you can.

IMO I find them great. I am acutely thinking of getting them instead of the Golden Zebra Loaches in my 100 gallon tank. I don't know yet what to do.

Nearly all loaches are schooling fish, with the exception of horsefaced loaches, zipper loaches and a few of the hillstream varieties.
