I am unsure about how often I should be feeding my coral banded shrimp. He usually catches one or two mysis shrimp each time I feed my fish frozen food, and about once or twice a week, I will hand him a flake. Once a month, I will give him a small piece of nori. He has shedded about 5 times, once a month. Does this sound alright?
Thanks

Sounds fine. If I'm not mistaken, the shrimp shedding is a sign of growth. Growth is a good sign. :ssmile: I could be completely wrong though since I have not kept any kind of marine shrimp yet.

5 times a month almost sounds like you are over feeding it. I never have to target feed my shrimp and it sheds at least 2 times a month.

I hardly ever see mine and have yet to see it eat, but it is still alive because I found it's molt the other day......
Chances are is that yours is getting supplemental feedings from natural food in your tank

I think it was 5 times since he had it, once a month. Mine usually sheds every 2 weeks, and I never target feed it anything. It just feeds off of any leftovers and it eats bristle worms (and will steal food from my frogspawn and torch when I feed them). Since adding him, I've noticed a reduction in bristle worms above the sand.

No need to target feed your shrimp. It will find plentyto eat in the tank. Sounds like it is doing fine.
