I've been asking a few questions over the past few days and have gotten either mixed answers or half answers. So.. I'm gonna make a poll for one of the most important questions. Hope this makes it easier to get a broader response. THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE TRIED TO HELP SO FAR! You are all awesome :o)

TIA,

I don't think you could put 6 neons and a frog in a 5 gal... maybe with a betta or some shrimp with the frog (I know nothing about frogs so they may not work together)...

I don't think you could put 6 neons and a frog in a 5 gal... maybe with a betta or some shrimp with the frog (I know nothing about frogs so they may not work together)... Plus in the 90 gal you could actually have more of each of those fish with a nice school (pending on stocking).

Yeah that would be really cool but this is just a temporary thing for while I am home from college. The neons, rasboras, and frog are all residents of a 20g at my dorm room and I'm moving them home for the month that I'm away from school.

I say put them all in the 90.... And get some shrimp or something for the 5..

Yeah, I have to vote for neither option as well. The closest one to what I would do is the neons and the frog in the 5 but I'd leave out the 5. A 10gal tank is less than $10 at PetSmart or WalMart, I'd personally get one of those for the Neons and the frog.

I can't. The 5g is only going to be up and running for a month while I'm on break. That would be neato though

I already have the 5g. It was small enough to fit in a nice convinient place at home and it was originally just going to be for the frog during break and all others go in the 90g. But now I'm afraid that the swordtails will eat my poor neons.

So why put anything in it? Why not leave/put everything in the 90?

The swords wont eat the neons..

They aren't in the 90g to start with. They are currently in a 20g next to me here at my dorm. I am going home for xmas tho for a whole month and don't want to leave them here. I got the 5g b/c I don't want to put my frog in the 90g when he's use to only going to the top of the 20g for air (wouldn't want him out of habit to gulp some water instead of air on accident). So I'm trying to figure out which is the safest route to move all the fish to the 90g or keep the neons in the 5g with the frog so they don't get eaten.

So, with those two options in the pole, which do you think is the better route?

Ok, as long as ur sure then I have no problem putting them in the 90g. Its gonna suck major trying to get them out after break is done but oh well.

To be honest, a frog is is not going to "gulp some water instead of air on accident" He will be fine in the 90.. The neons will not get eaten, if anything put everyone in the 90 and keep the frog in the 5g

Definitely the one that puts the smaller bioload in the 5gal. :) That would be just the frog in the 5. :)

My vote still lies with put it all in the 90 and the frog in a breeder net in the 90. So Much Easier(and safer for the frog)

Ok, sounds like I'll be putting all the fish in the 90g. Any suggestions on how to efficiently get them out at the end of the month?

My thoughts exactly!

I would have to vote neither.

probably just net them...

get a large net and chase them into it using your hand, rather than chasing them around with the net. Much easier

To make it easier for you to catch them and to keep anyone from possily being eaten, can you possibly make a divider for the tank? and keep the temp fosh on one side and the regulars on the other side?

Of the two, I think the first is the lesser of two evils. But I have to agree that I wouldn't put a school of neons in a 5.

I would probably just do the froggies in the 5, the fishies in the 90.

I haven't kept ADF before, but I have also heard from a few sources that shallow tanks are better for them since they can have difficulty surfacing for air in taller tanks. Your 90 may not be too tall for them, but if they were my pets I wouldn't put them in there.

Yeah, he's my buddy and I just want to be safe. He's obviously not the smartest sometimes and just that one mistake could mean bye bye Gorf.

As for the divider, I am stuck here at my dorm studying for finals until I go home which is when the fish will come which means no time to buy stuff for a divider and build it. And I'm almost certain there is no such thing as a 90g divider.. and someone mentioned that the neons might be able to slip past a divider anyway. If you have some awesome way to make a divider with something I can get from a mini pharmacy/grocery store, then I'm all ears but I'm afraid i'm just stuck with hoping they are all in the mood to come back home to their 20g on the day I need to catch them.

Yea I understand, finals suck like that. I was in such a panic to find a fish sitter after my one friend backed out on me. I'm sure I could have found someone but trying to get finals done... yea I know the whole hassle. Fortunately my friend that got me into the hobby took my tank back to her house that's four hours away from the school.

I didn't see the last post so I wasn't sure if getting a divider had been brought up. I thought I saw a 50 to 100 gallon divider at a petsmart before I left my school, but I wouldn't want you to go out there for nothing, especially since you don't have the time to(maybe you could call a store near you?). The only thing i can think of making a divider from that is at a local grocery store would take a while to make so it really wouldn't help. I voted on the later of the two

Yeah. I'm lucky right now though because I'm still a freshman so I've only had two finals. Calculus and Chemistry. Calculus comes pretty easy for me so it wasn't a problem. Its the chemistry one i'm worried about. I understand everything easily enough its just the stupid twist/trick questions that I don't catch when I'm taking the midterms. ICK!

Oh, geez... when I voted I read "5 Rasboras and 6 neons in 90g with swordtails while dwarf frog in 5g " as having the "swordtails WITH dwarf frog in 5g", not while. I feel pretty special now.

My vote would definitely have been for the second choice, frog in 5 fish all in 90 like I typed out.
