hey there had my 75g tank up n running for 8 month now all the fish in there are fine but over the last few week they seam to have gone all shy/scared when i used to feed em they'd be up at top waiting now most nearly all go and hide til i move back a step or 2 then they come out and eat it all! could there be any reason for this or am i being paranoid bout em????

Are they eating later? Or not eating at all? Agree with others.. have you redecorated? Done A WC recently? Perhaps your water co changed water treatments?

Agree with the first two posts, we need to know your water parameters and maintenance schedule, do you have test kits? If not thats your first problem

yes got test kit amonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 15 do water 25% changes every week come to think of it my tank was a little over stocked so i caught 4 fish to give to my bro in law just before they started acting wierd they all eating fine just hiding till i move away from tank the feeding as normal do you think i could of scared them when catching the other fish? i am still using same treatments (tetra aquasafe) when doing my water changes apart from this the fish are all acting normal

same exact thing happened to me not too long ago. Have a thread about it here somewhere. There was no explination. We thought it was one thing after another but everything checked out fine. One day they just decided they didnt want to come out when I was around. They would hide till they couldnt see my anymore and then go about acting normal. Really strange.

Ide say just give them time. Fish have mood swings and if the only thing is that they arent acting normal when you are around, but they are fine when you arent...its frustrating yes because you actually want to see your fish, but in time they will be fine. I have heard of this from other people and sometimes they will be like this for over a month!
