Well, found both species we currently have. Though the info on our Bumblebee Catfish was off. It lists size at 6" when they don't grow past 3".
Info on platies was decent.

Cool site Thanks for sharing...I found every fish I own/owned. Except for one...but I know what he is(Brown Bullhead Catfish) and he is/was wild so he probably wouldn't be on that list...lol

they might get that big in the wild and some fish's size can't be reached in a tank.
also some people scale fish by the largest known rather than average large size but anyway i just wanted to show the list because i ran across it looking at a couple of cichlids.

I just read on this site that oscars can be kept with silver dollars and sharks, does that sound right to you guys, and if so, would they be ok with bala sharks and maybe clown loaches

I found all mine. The information given is good as a general guide but I also found some of the information is a little off. For example my blue rams and bolivian ram were listed as Apistogramma Ramirezi and Apistogramma Altispinosus and they are in fact Mikrogeophagus sp. (sometimes spelt Microgeophagus) not Apistogramma sp. and have been classified as such for quite some time now, so possibly some of the information on the site is a little out of date.

What else have you kept with oscars apart from Bala's?
iv'e kept most fish that don't interfere with the top or mid part of the tank unless it's a serious enough cichlid like a green terror. also depending on what size tank i had determine what i put in it with them after a while i forget the last two oscars had the tanks to themselves i mean they were huge so i just kept them alone they were like fish you would fine in a 2000 gallon tank and it began to get ridiculous.
