Love them we have a pair of them. But I have to say yours are very nice looking. I'm hoping my colors pop out like that soon.
Nice fish! :22:
The Salvini is in my 3 year plan.

Thanks everyone :) He has changed quite a bit since I got him and hes been a pleasure to own for sure. I recomend this species to anyone wanting a nice mid-sized american.

I'd keep one if I could find one.Great looking fish.
Any problems keeping it with a convict?

Thanks :) And no...no problems with the Convict. My fish have all claimed a little spot of my 100G for themselves and if another fish ventures into their *spot* they get chased away but as far as aggression thats it; not ripped fins or missing scales or anything. The Sal is surpsing me by actually being fairly easy going so far.

Great pics and a beautiful Sal at that!:22:
I hope it remains a fairly docile fish.I here they can have a fairly nasty disposition.

That's funny, not that I have ever owned one,but I have heard Sals are fairly docile.

Ive heard both sides, Ive heard for their size they are about the most aggressive CA cichlid and then Ive heard from others theyre pretty mild manored. lol

It depends on the fish as is with most fish.I have had oscars that could live with guppys and one that would try and kill anything that got near his tank.

Definatly, I do agree it is individual. For instance my SO has a male firemouth that is dominating a 120G tank with an Oscar, Jack Dempsey, Kissing Gourami, and a male con. Its 1/3 the size of the O, and 1/2 the size of the Jack:22:
