My snails are starting to get cracks and holes in the shells anyone know why? In the pic you can see a large crack on the shell http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fishpictures/data/517/thumbs/Picture_074.jpg (http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fishpictures/showphoto.php?photo=9986)

To avoid shell damage, they need a ph of 7.0+ the higher the better, hard water, and a high calcium diet.

You can take some of those, crush them up, add a little water, add some calcium, then freeze it to make ur own wafers with more calcium for the snails.

What is your ph?
Is water particularly soft?

I find mysterys are a lot tougher of a keep than most think.
imo keeping them in anything but a species only tank with barebottom and bagged crushed coral is a big headache for more than a few reasons.
