I am new to this forum and would like to introduce myself. I have enjoyed fish keeping for many years. I had a bad experience with my first big tank. I have always wanted to get a 50-gallon aquarium. When I finally talked my darling wife into allowing me to have one in the house. The dang thing cracked. With the incurred water damage and carpet scheduled to be replaced this Friday, it is not likely that I will be able to convince her into the purchase of another one. I was so excited too. Oh well, they say things happen for a reason, for the life of me, I cannot find figure out the one for this. Well, I guess it got me involved with this forum, that is a plus…:22:

jeffs99dime, Incredulous Ed, 100gw, Abbeys_Mom, DemonShark, cocoa_pleco, crackatinny & PauliesAquaQueen,
Good afternoon and thank you all for the nice welcome to the Aquatic Community. I am an optimist and a new 50 gallon will be in my future. It will take some extra attention and begging on my part, however my Wife should come around after a while. The Carpet guy just finished installing the new carpet. I will pick out new furniture for the computer room tomorrow. In the mean time my tanks are set up in my Son’s bedroom as he is away at College. We had more babies yesterday. Two weeks ago, Sunday we had 85 new additions. Not really sure how many for yesterdays batch until I move them into the Nursery tank tomorrow. I guessing at least 50 or so anyway.
Once they grow to an inch in length, I bag them up and placed them into a small playmate cooler lined with bubble wrap. I then take the little guys to the local Pet Shop, “Something Fishy” located about 10 minutes away. They give me $0.50 each. I really enjoy it. My Wife says that I am nuts to spend so much time on the hobby. I tell her that there are worst things I could be doing with my time.

DemonShark, I sincerely appreciate your offer to assist with answering my fishy issue questions. That’s very nice, I just might take you up on that offer someday.

Drumachine,
Good afternoon. I am very impressed. That is correct. I achieve this beauty crossing a female black Tux & Green cobra male.

Drumachine,
Good afternoon. The thing about breeding Guppies, you never know how they will turn out. The weeks spent watching their color and patterns appear. Then a few will be very strikingly beautiful, its kind of like finding pearls in your oysters. This morning I placed a dwarf platy and a black tuxedo into the isolation tank. This will be the first batch for the black tuxedo and the second for the platy. The first platy batch she only had seven. Six survived. Therefore, I am not tanking any chances this time. Her mate stays close all the time. Very rarely will they venture apart for long.

Well, I called it. I arrived home yesterday and both the Blk. Tux & the Dwarf Platty released there babies together. Six platties. Don't know the number of the guppies until I move them into the nursery.
