My first serious attempt to get good shot and I think it is going well.

Besides my glass REALLY needing to be cleaned and my ghost knife getting red eye I think they look better than anything I've posted yet. Hopefully they only get better as the night goes on!thumbs2: Any obvious suggestions from the pros out there?

They are all taken in one corner of the tank b/c I'm using my bearded dragons uv lamp to try and get more light into the tank and thats the only position I can get to have the light look right.

I had a good sized one when I was younger but it died in an unfortunate heater accident, he was 5 years old and almost a foot long. This ones only a puppy (I call them that b/c they remind me of the dog from nightmare before christmas, so his names zero) but is growing very fast and lives happily in that stump with a striped raphael, they are my dynamic, black and white party, duo.

Good shot of that blue gourami and that peper catfish. i have a couple of them. Like that knife fish.. that must be a hard fish to find ...don't see many of them. But they will easily outgrow the tank won't they?

Great shots of some very nice fish mate, well done!
the cory pic is very good and I love the 2 action shots
of your Gouramis.

You asked for a couple of suggestions... (but i'm not a pro lol)

Like you said yourself the glass needs cleaned inside and outside,
this really helps you get a better focus on your fish, when
it's not cleaned your camera will focus on algae, water marks etc.

You got great detail on the torpedo barb, nice colour to, but it
makes for a way more interesting shot if you can get it facing the camera,
easier said than done with these guys I know.

Nothing much else to add mate, I think you did a great job and using
the lamp to get extra light in the tank was good thinking.

Keep experimenting with your settings, see which setting work best for which fish and write them down, happy snapping, looking forward to your next set ff pics.

Thanks all, I've got a few more I'll post later.

Well obviously depends on the tank size. Right now he's about 4 inches in my 55 gallon... Once he reaches that size I will have my friends 150 gallon to put him in. They are relatively rare I suppose, so if that falls through, a good size one will fetch me a good amount of $$$ at the LFS. I've got it figured out, don't worry about me! thumbs2: thumbs2:
