As I sat here not 2 minutes ago, learning the joys of antlerless hunting, I noticed my pike cichlid acting wierd. I got up to look at him and as approached the glass he spit out the head and claw of my blue electric lobster, which was not a small critter what so ever. The got along for about a month, the crayfish mostly stayed hidden and I thought was too big for the pike to beable and fit in his mouth, it has a mouth like a freaking python as I found out. Well at least walmart has a 90 day fish return policy, maybe I can take his head back in and see what they say haha, if not my gf owes me 10 bucks because she bet me it wouldn't be eaten. But seriously bad fish! I fear I'll never beable to ween him off live food, obviously when I tried weening him off feeders, he went and found something else to eat. :goldfish: :20:

Well at least walmart has a 90 day fish return policy,
that's bloody amazing. I'm moving to Illinois :)
They must be pretty darn good then. Cuz if fish from our local Walmart survived 90 days, I'm pretty sure we'd pay $10 just to see that.

Take it back to walmart and see what they say. If they ask what happened, say it dehydrated!
Hi,
Interesting. Shame about the Cray.

WHAT!? Walmart sells those!? Ughhh I can never buy fish from there again. Personal Vendetta I guess. I just believe all of their fish to be diseased.
Thats a crazy policy on fish though! atleast you benefit. I returned a dead pleco there before. She didnt even look in the bag, she had me throw it out in the garbage can. full money return.
I work at costco and our return policy is even worse. We had someone return a couch and chair set they bought 11 years ago for 2000 dollars. FULL refund!

Tell them he died and the fish were eating on it. Don't tell them your fish killed it.
Sorry.
My Walmart has a 10 day policy.

Same for the Wal-marts I have seen around here. Last I was aware, it was a 48-hour policy here (and the 'fish lady', who is actually pretty involved in animal rescue in the area and is a sweetheart who just knows nothing about fish) said they still eat a big loss on returned dead fish.
Poor lil crawdad, tho.

HE'S ALIVE!!! I just sold my oscar and pike and when I was redoing my tank I picked up a stump and who fell out? The crayfish, thats frickin crazy! Its been months since I've seen him, he must of molted and thats what the pike had eaten! He doesn't have any big pincers but they are growing back. Just thought I'd share.

If the crayfish hasn't been seen for months anyway, she may never know. If it does turn up unexpectedly: "Look honey, I got you a new crayfish..." :hmm3grin2orange:

Take the head back one day, and take the claw back the next day. I'll bet you that $10 you can get two new ones out of Wal-Mart!
What comes around goes around!
I used to have a 120 gal tank with a nice blue crawfish (i never put it into the tank, i think one of the other crawfish had babies and he managed to hide in the tank for a long time without being noticed)
Anywho, i had the cutest little halibut looking fish (about five of them...) until I started seeing less and less of them! Then one day i saw the crawfish munching down on one of the remaining halibut!!! I was pissed! so maybe your crawfish was paying a karma prie for what MY crawfish did to my dear little halibut babies years ago!!! LOL

Hmm that may be! I've got him in a tank w/ my blackmoor but im concerned what he might do to those fragile eyes... going to have to monitor the situation, otherwise I really have no where to put him.
