Anyone ever kept these? I was wondering if they are hard to keep. It says no when I research them but I am wondering why I can't seem to find any. No one at my LFS or LPS or chain stores sell them. I really want some for a ten gallon. Guess I might have to order some online. Even though I really hate the thought of paying for shipping :(

I had a trio of 2 females and one male.... really lovely and beautiful little fish. To this day I miss the ticking noise they made which is suprisingly loud for such small little fish. It is identical to the sound Predator makes in the same named movie...

lovleeko,
You'll have better luck searching by the scientific name - Trichopsis pumila - for care information. Best result would be in a soft-water planted tank, and they'd be the only fish in it. Live foods preferred, especially small insects like fruit flies, but in any case, food should float. You'd need a glass top, hinged of course, as they need the humidity. Temps around 80 degrees.
I've kept a lot of the smaller gorami species, and they are all kept the same as your pumilas.

Thanks so much for the info. I talked to a guy at the fish store and he said they dont get very many because they can't keep them alive. He said they would rather not get them than kill them. I hope I can find some locally. My brother lives in Pensacola, our neighboring city in Florida. I wonder what kind of LFS they have there. HMMM. It's a thought. Do you think they would do okay if they were kept with another small peaceful specie like cardinals?
