I am having a problem can you help!?!?

ok I logged onto the site this morning and had 150 posts I went and posted either 3-4 posts this morning and my number of posts dropped to 141 and has not moved no matter how many new posts I make. Anyone know why?? Anyone else notice this happening to them? Am I going to get credit for the posts that are not showing up in my counter? There will be 5 after this one is sent. PLZ HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!

Yes. Because I just cleaned out the POTM and TOTM threads to start getting ready for voting. Makes it hard to view the pictures for voting when there are so many posts without pictures. I clean these out every month prior to voting.

My count probably dropped 40!

ok well that one worked I went up one post but the other four still are not showing up. I know for sure 100% that I had 150 posts because I made sure I made the number reach 150 before I logged out two days ago...I knew I should have made a post like I was going to stating I made it to 150 the other night when it happened.

I was probably still doing some cleaning as you were posting so the count was not changing. Say, you posted two but I deleted two.

So we loose out on post's we already made? That does not seem fair...there isn't a way we can keep the credit for all of the post's we are making and delete the post's we no longer need(that are slowing things down)? I wonder? I have been trying to... well I wont say catch up with you guys because that'll never happen but I would like some sort of award eventually...lol I just don't think that is fair and wonder if there is a way to stop that from happening don't want to seem like a bug either. I also want to ask has anyone ever mentioned this to William?

Jeff and I, the big chatterboxes here, lose out more than anyone. You lost only 10 and will make them up quickly.

When you have 12 pages of posts and only 3 actually contain pictures, clean up is necessary so people coming in can view the pictures they want to see without having to go thru all the unnecessary stuff.

I believe in the near future, the contests will be done thru the photo gallery that William has just set up. All the entries for the contests will be conducted right thru the gallery and no pictures posted on the forum at all in POTM or TOTM. Whether this will be a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen but it's something we'd like to try out and see how it flies.

Ok I was not speaking for just myself, you had stated you lost 40 by doing what you did that's alot and I was thinking that was not fair to everyone not just me. I know I only lost 10 and make them up but I thought that once we posted and the point was added it should not be taken back. But that's just my oppinion.

I agree with not wanting to look through 12 pages of posts with no pictures in them to check out the newest pics entered in the contest...it can be a bit of a pain but I didn't mind either some of the post's are funny and some very informative.

That sounds like a great idea for the contests that way we can post in the POTM & TOTM Threads and not loose our post points. I think you guys know what you are doing on this site or it would not be as HOT as it is. So I think that should go just fine if that's what will happen.

My point was to ask why it happened I found out and I am fine with that thank you for your help and sorry to bother you about this.

when threads are cleaned up, so to speak, on every forum i've been on atleast, which is a lot, this is typical. everyone with posts in the specified thread will lose whatever they had posted because they are simply not there anymore. it's just one of those things, ya know? :)
