Finally cornered the new fish and took a couple of pics... they were labeled as Swordtail Tetras... if anyone can dispute this please let me know.....

I dont think i have ever seen them before. They dont look like the swordtail i am used to, maybe they really are swordtail tetras... Great pics though!

I really like the one with the flake hanging out if its mouth!
I've never seen those before. I was thinking the other kind of swordtail. The livebearer kind. These are pretty cool looking, though. They have big pretty eyes.

yep, swordtail tetras alright. Quite rare in fishkeeping circles as I understand. More info here [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

Well, I know I should have left them in a quarantine tank longer but I'm leaving for 5 days this week and I wanted the Gouramis and the swordtails to be with the other fish. I put them in the tank about ten minutes ago and it took them about 4 minutes to pair up with at least one of their species and they are now having a blast swimming around in the Big tank after coming out of a 3 gallon tank and going into the 75 you would think it was Wonderland for fish.... great fun watching them......thumbs2:

bluefin, they're also called swordtail characins. i looked it up in one of my books
