I did the same stoopit thing I usually do, impulse buy...
So I picked up 8 of these for my 10gal shrimp tank only to find out now they are a cold water fish. Does anyone have experience keeping them in warmer tanks? I think my red cherry shrimp can handle the water to be cooled a bit, but I just wanted some other input.
They are very active at the moment, so I hope it will be fine for them. I know they are pretty resilient. A blast to watch.
Thanks

72 is basically the highest temp for white clouds and the lowest temp for cherries. If you set it there you may be able to get away with it, but neither species will be as comfortable as possible.
I would take that route, but in the meantime look for a cooler permanent tank to put the white clouds in. There are other neat coldwater species, ive been toying with the idea of a cool-water 29 lately.

Hmm I've read the only real fish the red cherry shrimp will be safe with are otos. Other small fish may be ok too, I have pygmy rasbora in with them. No idea on the white clouds.

I saw red cherries will do OK down to 60*, but I'm just wondering how well the fish will do up to 70-75* which is where I have the tank currently. They seem to love it now, but I'm just worried how the warmer water will do over time...

usually i read low 70's is it for cherries, i could be wrong though.
White clouds wont be able to eat full grown cherries though, they dont get much more than a half an inch bigger than the shrimp.

Not worried about the safety of the shrimp (being food that is), all my tetras are much bigger. Some twice the size of the white clouds. The shrimp have multiplied with no issue. More worried about the water temp to keep them all at.
But thanks for providing your input, it's much appreciated!!!
If anything rich, keep the water well oxygenated because the WC come from fast moving rivers. I think they will do fine at 72, I dont see a huge rush to get them a new tank.

I have some white clouds in with cherries, shrimp population has declined, I haven't saw a baby shrimp in months and I find a dead adult every few days that has been ripped up
