So we have decided to get a rabbit. I can't really find a breeder around me no matter how hard I've tried so I will have to take my chances with the LPS. I have decided to go with a normal common breed. So I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which would be a better choice between mini rex and mini lop. I was considering a dwarf netherland which are adorable but I want a curious or laid back breed and less excitable.

I used to have a mini rex and lop. Of corse I didnt know they were girl and boy, and one day, I looked in the cage, and there were four more... Anywho, the Rex was really really shy, once you get to holding them though, they warm up to you. The lop however loved to be pet, and had a great personality, but I really think it depends on the rabbit. IMO the lop ears are cuter lol.

You can always get them nutered. It will stop them from spraying.
I caught a black&white rabbit on the way home from the bar one night.I was kinda shocked and figured someone had lost their pet.I brought it home and put it in a big old dog cage.I woke up to find my black&white dog sleeping back to back with the rabbit. Those two fell in love.I would have kept it if it would have stopped spraying in circles in the cage in my room! The vet wanted a couple of hundred too much.I gave it to the old Italian couple next door.
They had some just like it!lol I didn't know that until that day!
I wonder where it came from.:19:

Thanks for your opinion ryuu. I have heard that the mini lops have great personalities. But I heard they tend to bite sometimes. And then I heard they dont LOL

Funny story NG. Wow, can't believe you just found a rabbit one day. :19:

If you are going with the LPS, I say narrowing it down to the two breeds is enough. At this point, I would keep an eye on the rabbits from both of those breeds they get until you find one that appears healthy and of a good disposition (taking into account, of course, the fear and lack of conditioning/handling that likely come with being a young LPS rabbit).

You're right. That's a good idea. I really have no other choice. I can't find a breeder. Not even a back yard breeder. :(
