Lovey your dogs you guys and miss not having one, so thought I might post my dog who died in 1997. Since then we have given up five years to puppy walking for guide dogs for the blind. They were all lovely pups, but you cant beat owning your own dog.

He was a lovely dog and we had him when our children were small - he played an equal part in our family, in fact all our holidays centered around where we could holiday with a dog. lol

The five guide dog pups all qualified, we have n't done it for a while due to other commitments. Unfortunately they are all getting older and another two are due to retire this year:scry:

ok been saying for awhile that i was gonna post pics of my lil dogs. here are a few to start.
first one is my jack russel Nemo, the Stumpy Legged Wonder. he is possibly the most awesome dog i have every met. if i wasnt so lazy i could train him to do laundary. seriously, everything i try to teach him he picks up in a matter of days. he is very sensitive and VERY protective of me. my family likes to ruff-house, but nobody had better not lay a finger on me!

the second is haley...my ugly dog. she is very sneaky, i better not leave her unatended or else something will get destroyed.

and third is my beauty queen Val. this is the puppy that i tried to give to my wife that she didnt want (separate thread). she seems a shade on the slow side, but is very sweet and loving and has been told that she is a gorgeous cocker spaniel, but we dont tell her so she doesnt get full of herself. she is already to cool to look at the camera, so i have to keep working for a good head shot.

anywho, these are my babies. thanks for looking!

ok problem posting images. cant get thumbnail of haley to load right, but she is now on the bottom.

Here's our 13 year-old Curly-coated retriever. He lost family room privileges for a while...but on Sat. I took him in to be groomed (too hard for my arthritis...lol...but I can still do the other three without my arms falling off)...he's a little fluffier than a Curly is supposed to be...but given his age, it's okay...:1luvu:

This is Snickers. He's just over four years of age but still thinks he's a puppy. 'Should've named him "Peter Pan." He's smart but stubborn like most mini-wiener dogs. BARKS AT EVERYTHING!!! OMG... and, YES, he does need a bone that big. He must've been a beaver in his previous life...

Just posting another picture of my baby, Watson (a/k/a Power Wat, Wonder Wat, Wat.U.Is, and Baby Wat). He's going to get neutered tomorrow and has one retained testicle. We REALLY hope he doesn't have to spend overnight at the vets. He is such a momma's boy and big time my baby. Love him so much and even though I've had many, many animals fixed w/o issue (even lending a hand for gelding horses), I will be worried about Watson tomorrow and can't wait to bring him back home:

[QUOTE=Sarkazmo] He's smart but stubborn like most mini-wiener dogs. QUOTE]

You'Ve got a good looking dog there and I have to say that Dachshunds are my favorite dogs, smart and have to be in the top 3 when it comes to being stubborn.

Had one when I was a child and a St Bernard could come in our yard and that wiener dog would jump it, he didn't care how big they were, they weren't coming in his yard. Can't tell you how many times that dog had to get sewed up. :shappy:

I agree too...they're all adorable.

Jill: Hope his castration goes well...they generally do...

Sarkazmo: Adorable! Mine also gets the big-dog bones...she doesn't need one that big...but it does the trick and I don't have to make extra purchases just for her...

:) thanks, she was really a great dog. My grandmother is in late stage Alzheimer's (about 6 years ago she was living with my mother and me), and when she started to cry, Gem would put her head on my grandmother's lap and she would pet Gem and calm down. She should have been a therapy dog!

Is Cobra a doberman? I love that his ears aren't cropped :)
What breed is Ninja?

Cobra is a doberman. Hes german stock, big boned protection breed. I left his ears and tail uncut since I dont believe in cropping. Ninja is akita/belgian shepherd. They are the best of friends.

That makes me really happy that you didn't crop. My mother had a friend who had three uncropped dobies and I thought they were the most beautiful dogs. I can see the akita in Ninja as a pup but the shepherd really came out now that he's older!

Edit: Just watched the video you posted, that is precious. Cobra's really into the roly-poly pup!

I always watched them closely since Cobra was so big, but he was always so careful and gentle with Ninja, he even let him climb all over him and chew on his ears and tail. I was amazed.

Some lovely looking canines on here...although I'm disturbed by dogs with cropped ears. It's such an unnecessary thing to do to an animal.

I sure hope you were not referring to the pics I posted

Her ears were not cropped or altered in any way

Just a good health diet with a little added geliton for good cartilage development

Haha I'm glad your dig your pool!

My parents had a huge in-ground pool before they got divorced, and our two eldest dogs LOVED going for swims with us. I think I have photos of me taking my big black Rocko for swims when he was a pup, but they would be on my home computer. If I remember to look I'll upload them :)

So Boof Jr. has been wanting his own puppy for a while now. Our two dogs are too big to be lap dogs, and he's been wanting a little puppy to cuddle with.

The pet gods smiled down on us and sent us this adorable little guy. We named him Marley. He's completely chill, and super gentle. He loves Jr. and is constantly following him around.

Some lady in a nearby town had chihuahua/poodle pups that she was looking to find homes for. There were three. Two looked more like chihuahuas, and then this guy looked just adorable. We trimmed him a bit last night and this morning. He loved it. Would just fall asleep as we groomed him and got him cleaned up. He was panting a lot unless we had the fan on him. Just too much fur. It was also in his eyes. So we thinned out his coat a bit and gave him the gift of (better) sight haha

They totally bonded immediately. That shot in the back seat of the car was on the trip home from when we got him. He climbed in Ayden's lap and sat there the entire ride home. He even crawled up into his bed with him last night and they fell asleep almost cheek-to-cheek. Melted our hearts haha

Haha you saw that, eh Rivers? :) My wife is definite my better half. She always thinks of stuff like that.

Had extremely pleasant weather this evening. The rainy season is finally upon us. While it didn't rain, it was overcast all evening and it cut the temps down quite a bit. We took Jr. and the dogs to the park for about two hours and they are completely tuckered out. Poked my head in his room ten mins after putting him to bed and was greeted with this adorable sight.

MCHRKiller

Not by a lot...I think we have just learned to manage him. The vet has confirmed that he does have Hyperkinesis which is rare as most cases are just under exercised dogs with a high prey drive. Deuce can literally run a half marathon and 20 minutes later be manic..where even active dogs would be out for the count for days. He just has never learned to relax, properly seek attention, and has an unusually low attention span and is very impulsive. I have taken to giving him CBD Oil over Rx medications and it does take the edge off his behaviors.

Now Diamond is (to me) the perfect dog...she helps keep her brother "in check" as she has became dominant over him. She has a good amount of energy but is also very relaxed. It is also nice to have a dog we can travel with as with Deuce this just isn't an option.

The Vet gave us some tryptophan dog treats to calm our yellow lab down during storms..lol...yeah, didn't work. CBD oil is our next option...summer and thunder storms are coming so we'll look into that.

MCHRKiller
02-14-2018, 09:10 PM
Yeah the CBD Oil is working better than 80mg of Prozac....not to mention it is helping his appetite as it has been a struggle to keep weight on him. I really dont give him that much CBD either just got some 360mg pure oil from the healthfood store and give him 5 drops twice per day. The bottle has lasted for many many months so it winds up being a lot cheaper as well.
