The only fish found out here are in aquariums! I, like most others, have had a goldfish in a glass bowl at some point in time. I decided to step up a few notches and create a nice aquarium at home. I started off by doing my research. Weather it be online, friends and family with experience, or small aquatic specific shops within town. I then figured out my budget, which wasn't a lot, and decided to go the male Betta route. I bought a ,I believe, Crowntail Betta. It's currently in a ~2.5ish gal. "wine glass". I change the water once a month. It's diet consists of beta pellets and freeze dried blood worms. He shows a lot of life and has been living in my room for over 5 months now.

A few days ago I decided to create an aquarium. Just so luck had it, Wal-Mart had a special on 10 gallon kits. $20 for a 10 gallon tank, a filter, water stabilizer, goldfish and tropical fish flake food, hood, and incandescent lights. On top of that I bought florescent bulb replacements, 15 lbs. of gravel, 2-15 gal. submersible heater, and underwater thermometer. Again, I did my research and talked to the nice guys at my local fish store (Atlantis in Las Vegas, NV) for info and tips.

After about 20 hours of letting my tank circulate with the filter and water stabilizer, my girlfriend surprised me with two goldfish. She knew I was going to get them any ways. She bought a small golden Fantail and an orange Pearlscale. I'll have them for a while, then look into a nice plant or two and other fish.
