I was moving living room furniture around a bit last night and under my big chair I found my largest rainbow....my big splendida. He must have done some serious flopping around because he was at least 5 ft from his tank. This is an open tank but I recently added two more tank lights so hopefully no more will jump out. I just wish one of the younger ones would have jumped out instead of my big mature male that was all colored up nicely.

Sorry to hear about your rainbow Lady Hobbs,Its a drag when its a fav that makes the leap.Did your new lights seal up all the gaps?
HI Hobbs,
Sorry about your loss. it was a big shame. Nothing like loosing a nice muter male, fish that has full color. I understand your loss. I lost a wonderful Malacox Precoxe [Think I spelled it right] by it jumping out of the tank, when I was cleaning.
Yes I am sure most of use have had thins happen.

I was cleaning my silver dollar tank once and one flew up, slapping me a wet kiss in the face and fell back in the back. Scared the blazes out of me!

LMAO! That was funny!:laugh1blue:
I have had my oscars jump into my hand at feeding and freak me out but never in the face.
SDs are a lot faster swimmers though!
