Balloon Ram 1 of 2 died

Strange but I attempted Balloon Rams have had for 2 weeks 1 suddenly died the other is seemingly doing great.I did not notice anything odd except one was a bit more outgoing and lively .I added a few more pieces of driftwood and rearranged the tank maybe I stressed it out?PH is about 7.2 I have done regular water changes water temp is 82 only cuz my heater is turned all the way down yet still 82 .I need a new heater.Anything I have or have not done contributed to the ram death?I'm gonna monitor the remaining ram and see if he still acts fine then get another

Have you tested any of your other perameters?
Is your tank fully cycled?
It could just be that the molly had something you could not see.An internal parasite

I had nitrite and amm tested 2 weeks ago when i got the rams but have not gotten a test kit yet except ph .The tank has been established for about a year.I prolly should get a good test kit to atleast rule it in or out.I have a Bio wheel and a Back filter with ceramic rings and 2 powerheads with sponge pre filters no under gravel system.

rams like much warmer water than other fish. My tank is almost always 81.5 degrees and nothing i can do about it. Suposedly rams like 83 or so but all the fish are happy at this temperature.

I've found the Balloon Rams to be sensitive. they do react badly to rearranging of the tank. I did a tank makeover, and all the Rams were stressed for days!!! Odd little fish...but gorgeous!!! I've just bought two more today, and hoping they do well...

So far so good the nitrate lvl is about 10ppm and ph 7.2 been held for a week at that.Went to lfs and got 2 golden Rams 1 male 1 female the survivng male balloon ram seems to be ok with the other male ram.Now just waiting on our budget to get the 210 gal tank.
