Can yoyo's get bloat?
I have a yoyo loach that is getting really fat and struggling to swim. He lives with Africans and gets fed Hikari sinking wafers, algae wafers and cichlid gold and cucumber in the tank. I didn't think he was eating that much.
Does fat, struggling to swim, lazy = bloat?
I've tried searching all through here for info on bloat and can't find any. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Sounds like bloat or constipation of some sort given your initial description. If I were you I would isolate him and try feeding him a boiled mashed pea (helps with constipation). Without isolating him there is no way to control the amount he eats. Maybe a spare tank or a tank divider?

Hmm all my spare tanks have cory fry - would a floating breeding net work to isolate him? How long should he be by himself? I'll try the peas. I'm going to give the whole tank a fast day this weekend so maybe I'll pop some peas in for all of them.
I guess the breeder net would work if it were large enough. Maybe you could just isolate him while feeding and take care not to leave anything else for him?

A temporory tank divider would work if the breeder net is too small.
You can make one out of plexi or pick one up at your lfs.
Just my 2 cents.
I hope he makes it!:11:

Well I got home last night and he's back to his skinny, active self! :19: I've cut down on the feeds a bit in the tank and just gave them a vege day so I think that helped him. Phew!!!
