Hello,
When we were at the LFS a few days ago, my hubby saw a tank of rope fishes that he thought were very cool. I had no idea what keeping one of these guys requires, so told him I'd look it up. So far I haven't had too much luck finding good articles online.
Can anyone here point me in the direction of a good article or answer a few simple questions about keeping rope fish? For example: how large a tank do they need? What other fish can be kept with them? What do they eat? How hard or easy are they to keep? And anything else you think might be useful.
Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I'll let hubby know he can't have one because they need a big tank, lol. Maybe sometime in the future, they're really neat to watch swim.

How big of a tank do you have now and what's in it? I kept mine in a 55 with all kinds of fairly small community fish and they did great together. He fed on pellets and raw shrimp. The only thing I can say is...make sure the tops are completely sealed. They can find their way out of any small hole in the lid! That's how mine found his fate. They are otherwise a great fish to keep.

Right now we don't have any tank larger than a 20 long, so it's out of the question for now. Good to know they can go in with community fish, though. I'll probably want a bigger tank once we buy a house and I'm rich and famous (lol) so maybe we could get one then. Thanks for the info!
