By the number of dorsal fin rays (looks like 11 or 12) it's a Pterygoplichthys, looks like P. parnaibae to me.

Cheers Dave, I have a Gibbiseps myself, it was the markings on his that was
putting me off, he was thinking of getting 4 more but thats not going to happen now lol.
Thanks for your feedback.

It's the markings for me too that make me wonder Brook, sorry Dave, I thought that P. parnaebai was more spotted than that on the dorsal fin, this one has more stripes than spots on the dorsal.

I love trying to ID, I'll have a scout around and see, mind you, there really isn't that many Pterygoplichthys, like Dave said, if there's more than 10 rays in the Dorsal fin that's what makes it a Pterygoplichthys.

Dave may well be right (the guru that he is:c2: )

OK after looking around, it does look a bit like P. parnaibae,

I also thought it looked a bit like a baby P. joselimaianus, or even a baby P. weberi, with the one photo of a baby weberi that I could find!

Not much help sorry. But since all the Pterygoplichthys grow to nearly a foot or more, you're right another 4 wouldn't be a good idea (unless it was a MONSTER tank!!!! LOL)

(How bout we forget I even butted in here):c4:
