I'm looking for advice on how to stop my RTS from beating up my Bala shark. I added a giant danio and that has helped, the giant danio will distract my RTS if he starts to chase my Bala shark. But I have also seen my giant danio chasing my bala shark and it seems playful but I'm not sure. I have also added another cave so two total now. My Bala shark is getting nipped and has a few splits in his fins. I don't have a problem with getting rid of my RTS but thats my last resort. Any thoughts?

So, what's a RTS so I don't have to sit here and scratch my brain?
Bala sharks like to be in groups and get 8-12 inches and need a huge tank. One of them has to go. What size is your tank?

I agree with Hobbs. Red tail sharks get aggressive. (im assuming thats what you mean my RTS)

Yeah I mean red tail shark by RTS. I have a 29 gallon.

29gal is kinda small for a RTS and way to small for the bala.

A 29 gallon is far too small. They are fighting for territory that they don't have.

Thanks gm72 I thought the RTS needed a bigger tank but I knew the bala was cramped.

Ok thanks. Does it matter that they are both young or do they just need more room to begin with. I was told that they should be ok, but I'm assuming that I was told wrong.

Well nomatter what tank you put them in they probably wont get along unless its massive. and ive been told before that if you start a bala in a small tank it will stunt his growth and shorten his life span. I dont know enough about the RTS to tell you alot maybe someone else can help out.

What are some suggestions for a replacement for my Bala shark? I have only semi aggressive fish in my tank.
Something much smaller. A school of tetras perhaps?
