gold nugget

hi thanks for the warm welcome,just woundering if any of you guys know much about gold nugget plecs,ive heard they are fussy eaters,had mine for about 7 months now hes doing great lovely colouring but very shy,the thing is he doesnt seem to grow, hes about a inch and a half long now so hes probably grown about half inch in 7 months where as my common plec as grown into a monster,any info is much appreciated

gold nugget plecos dont seem to grow very big my gold nugget is 8 inches and has been for about a year and a half now

Yes, they are very slow growers. That is actually not bad at all for this species.

It also depends on which species of Gold Nugget you get. There are 4 different L numbers that are given the name Gold Nugget (2 of them are listed as the same) and all 3 have a different Max size.

It starts with L18 and it maxes out at 14"
Next is L81 and it maxes out at just over 7"
The last one is L177 and it maxes out at just about 8"

All of them are slow growers but L18 will likely grow a little faster.
