algae--what??? [Archive] - Aquarium Forum

I have 2 10g side by side each with a blue lobster in it. They get identical treatment, weekly 50% PWC same feedings... water test 0-0- 5-10 nitrate
One is clear and the other is heavy with algae. Can anyone explain this?? Oh, the only diffence is one tank was used and on brand new. Can't remember which is which.

Is there a window nearby? one that could possibly be allowing light to come through and shine directly on one of the tanks while not the other?

What are your Water Parameters? And when was the last time you tested?

I agree with runcities here it coul also be diffrent light intensity:ssmile:
