My first question on the site is about Black Moors. How long can one be expected to live in an aquarium? Ours is sitting on the bottom of the tank, probably not a good sign.

They can live 10+ years. What size tank is it and what are your water parameters??

The answer to that begs many questions from me.
Size tank,temp kept at,tank mates.
I have a black moor I keep in an outside pond.He is over 4 years old now and doing great.I dont know what there ultimate life span is.I do know if your tank is less then 55 gal, your temp is in the tropical range [78deg on up] and if he is in with tropical fish the answer to your question is ,not long.

Have you read the Sticky: Goldfish Article?
If not that could be a lot of help.

Goldfish in general can live for decades with the proper care, the record is over forty years. I am not aware of black moors (or any other breed) having a reduced lifespan.

Tank size?
Filtration?
Water change schedule?
Nitrate concentration?
Tankmates?
