I have a rainbow shark that I got from a friend and I am trying to figure out which tank to put him in. Here are my options:
29G Angelfish tank
29G Tetra tank
20G guppy colony tank
2G beta tank (cold water)
Any suggestions? There is a possibility that I can put it in my moms 40G community tank as well (angelfish, silverdollars, bala shark).
Thanks!
To be honest, you have nowhere to put him. They get big and mean.

I'll have to agree with TRS.Even your moms tank will be too small. Its even too small for her bala shark.Sharks need a mega tank.

I was really worried thats what people were going to say. At the moment he's still only about 3 inches long. I have it in with some other fish but no major nipping that I've seen. I'll have to figure something out I guess...

Rainbow sharks only get to about 6-7inches. So I"m not sure if northernguy is speaking of real sharks (rainbow sharks are not real sharks) but a rainbow doesn't need a mega tank. They do need I would say a 55G minimum as they are aggressive, more so as they age, and they like to swim around. So yeah you still don't have anywhere to put him.

Sorry your right Gemini.I was thinking of something else lastnight.
Tha bala shark will outgrow the other tank eventually.
Sorry Nic enjoy your fish!:19: It will need another home in the future.
