Hello Everyone!
My name is Beth and I live in Cameron, IL. I am just learning about aquariums and the "Cichled" fishies. I am fascinated with these fish. The Jack Dempsey is awesome, about 8" long; and the Parrot fish is quite the personality, orange colored & about 4". I think it is female..don't really know...just looks like one of those "busy body" type females to me :c4: . The Convicts(approx. 10) are something else also. I am a bit apprehensive about the amount of food to feed them. They all act like they are starving no matter how much I give them. They are currently getting Gold fish flakes, by Tetra and some Cichled pellets,by Omega One, also we are throwing in a few live feeder gold fish every few days or so. I feed 2 X's/day. I don't measure the exact amount. Am going to start tho. The person who gave us the fish demonstrated how much he fed them. So I try to go by that. Not very scientific, but he has had fish a long time. Also we have a "gaZillion" babies. The "parents" are ever vigilant in protecting them. I think they need daycare they have got to be very tired! LOL The rest of the residents of this aquarium are: 2 Plecostamus (1 approx 11"; 1 approx 5") 2 Red Jewels; 2 African Cichleds; and 1 White Jewel (I think that is what it is called) Quite a variety and I must say a pretty mix. I have pics of them..when I learn how to post pics I will put some up!..Have made videos also! :c12: I have to get busy and get ready to go "Trick or Treating"!! Everyone have fun and be careful!
