Getting plants for Aquaria...

KK, well the plants at the LFS are VERY expensive. Could I go swimming in the local dam and fish up a few floating plants, and make them Aquaria safe or something of the likes???

yes, all aquarium plants were wild at one time.
You would want to sterilize them first then quarantine for a week or two.

A potassium permanganate or bleach dip would work, a few plants don't tolerate the bleach well ( 1 part bleach 19 parts water)

How would u get lily pads? Wouldn't u have 2 uproot them first? the ones at the local dam are rooted into the ground. Could you snip them halway down and they would be alright?????
