I'm looking for some opinion on moving the stocking I have in my 29g to a 20g.
In my 29g: 2 Blue Rams, 7 Cherry Barbs, 3 Pygmy Cories, 2 Bronze/Green Cories, 1 Panda Cory, 1 Male Betta, and 1 Golden Snail
Should I do it/Is it wise? Thanks for the opinions.
EDIT: Lets change the tank size to a 20g that the fish will be going into instead of a 10g.

The best thing is to save as much water as you can from your tank. Also save your gravel. You can put the fish in ziploc bags, or even ask a local fish store for bags they send fish home in. Make sure the bag temp stays relatively normal.

I would not do it. I think moving the pygmy cories, the male betta, and the snail would be ok, but nothing more. What kind of filtration?

Sorry. And in reference to your fish load, most of them are bottom feeders, so just make sure they are kept fed. As long as you keep alot of the water the same, which I am assuming is pretty well cycled, you should be fine.

the water in the tank holds no real beneficial bacteria so no sense in keeping that. I'm assuming you want to move these fish into an already cycled 10g?

As for filtration: AC 70 and java fern plants. The filter and plants would go in and onto the tank.

I would not move the barbs and rams but everything else would be fine.

How about the stocking in the 29g going into a 20g instead of a 10g? Even asking about going into a 10g was stupid on my part.
