whats the difference in the two.... how do you distinguish which one you have. Obviously my red cap is an oranda, but how do I know who my other 2 are??? (ghost)

Lionheads and ranchus do not have a dorsal fin. They are not supposed to have any dorsal fin or even a bump or anything. Orandas have a slightly different body shape and tend to have longer fins. Orandas can have just the cap wen ('brain', 'growth', whatever you want to call it) or they can have the full wen that goes over the gil covers, under the eyes, etc. Ranchus and lionheads usually have the full wen.

umm well one is just a red cap... than the other is like a blue/grey color and than my newest one is bronzey goldish

so i guess that means the pic in the lionhead profile isn't a lionhead cuz it has a dorsal

No that is not a lionhead. Although you could argue it as a lionhead oranda because it has the full wen and not just a wen on top like some orandas. But I would consider that just an oranda.

I find ranchus to have more of a rounded look. Don't forget bubble eye and celestrials don't have dorsal fins either.

An oranda with a full wen is called a tiger head oranda.
