Hi,

I'm an entomologist, about to set up an aquarium soon for my 2 year old. Trying to decide between fresh and A reef set-up. I've done both in the past, but it's been 6 years or more since I last had a tank of any sort (other than the occasional summer spring peeper tadpole tank).

I'll be surfing the pages here, tryiing to decide 1 way or the other.

there are benefits to both, I just have to weight the options (cost, simplicity, interests).

Good luck with your decision, I do not know the difficulties in setting up a reef tank but if you are setting this up for your 2 year old, wouldn't it be advisable to set it up with fish that are easily replaceable so if one of the fish happens to hide for a couple of days, he'll have a chance to " come back out
" again?
