Just thought I would post a couple of pictures of my newly aquired Goldfish, the pictures are not exactly brilliant due to the digital camera being a bit slow!

Thanks guys! Does anybody know what sort of Goldfish they are? I think the orange one is a common Goldfish, the other one apparently used to be orange too, but changed to the colour it is now for some reason! Oh, and Drumachine, they are called Bev (light coloured one), and Gordon (orange one). NOT Bait!!!!!!!!:goldfish: :goldfish:

Im not trying to offend anyone, but in my opinon, common goldfish are just good for bait. I like the more ornate versions like the orandas and the ryukins, but common goldfish is GREAT catfish bait.

Well thats fair enough Drumachine, maybe one day I too will have predatory fish and adopt your attitude towards Goldfish, but Bev and Gordon are going to be looked after! They are about 6 yrs old and around 5 inches long (I think I said they were 5cm in another thread), I would say they are the first pets that are truely my own, we have dogs but they are like family pets and my mother will not allow me to have a scorpion in the house!

Very nice pics. I believe Gordon is referred to as a comet goldfish.

Every day is a school day! Nice one. I don't even know their gender, I presume they are both of the same sex seen as though they have never 'got down to it' so to speak! Either that or one of them is gay!

Your pics are pretty nice, goodwork!

Im trying to get some quality shots of my tank, but it's hard to see into the water because the lighting is bad, and theres tannin :(

That stand looks abit small aswell, is that the standard built stand for that size tank? I'd be careful using smaller stands for bigger tanks.

I've got goldfish, but the fancy kind - Ryukins and Oranda's.

Try raising a few small ryukins, they arent too expensive when they are young, and they look absolutely amazing when they get older.

Oranda's are good too, but are a little bit weaker.

Also Shubunkins are nice...

:19: (P.S - If your tank hasnt finished cycling, then wait until it does before acquiring new fishys :thumb: )

Er????? No, that aint the standard stand for the tank, it's just a small table that we have. The tank did not come with a stand, and that is all we had to put it on. It is only temporary, but it is sturdy/strong enough to support the tank. As for Goldfish, once Bev and Gordon depart for fish heaven, I wont be getting more Goldfish, maybe go tropical. I seem to like catfish and loaches.

You could get a few clown loaches. My three are hilarious! Hopefully your fish dont depart anytime soon though!

The orange one is a common goldfish and the white one is a comet.
I have to say my favoite goldfish is a japanese comet shubunkin.
