thats where i want to put my tank. its about 9 years old and is acrylic. i havent used it in about 3 or 4 years, but it looks to be in good condition. is it a bad idea to keep it on the table next to my electronic stuff? i'd like to enjoy it while sitting at the computer. yet i'm worried that something disastrous might happen when i'm away from home. what the word?

btw, isnt my giant aloha scooby teh pwnage? :41:

i would move the laptop and phone off the table. if you spring a leak from the tank, you could end up with a fire, get electrocuted, fry your fish, etc. i would move that a.s.a.p! that is a giant disaster waiting to happen! --jeff

I know of several who keep tanks on their desks at work but I would be a little afraid for my computer especially in the case of glass tanks. I believe the acyrlic are a one piece molded injection so likely you'd have no problem with one of those leaking.

Whenever I have had a tank near my computer, I have always had it on a different table. Do you have some kind of stand you could put between the table and the wall to put the tank on? I would worry about the water near the computer, even if it's just a spill from filling the tank.
