I can't figure out what combination of water conditioners/plant supplements to use. There are so many and they all offer one or two things that the others don't have.

1. NovAqua (http://www.novalek.com/archive/klistfr.htm)
This one seems important because in addition to the standard stuff it also is a pH buffer, reduces nitrite, and contains inorganic salts for preventing illness.

2. AmQuel (http://www.novalek.com/archive/klistfr.htm)
This seems to be the standard for neutralizing Ammonia, and it removes nitrate, nitrate, chloramine, and all that good stuff. It's removal of nitrate and nitrate makes me wonder if that's good for plants because don't they need that stuff?

3. FloraGro + (http://www.redseafish.com/Product.asp?dir=&catID=99&subID=63&proID=226)
In addition to being the standard water conditioner, this provides essential minerals but nothing else.

4. This combo seems to provide the most for plants.
Seachem's Flourish (http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/Flourish.html) that just provides all the basic trace elements and minerals.
Flourish Iron (http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/FlourishIron.html) that provides...well...iron.
Flourish Excel (http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/FlourishExcel.html) This one seems really good to me because I won't be setting up any CO2 injector, plus it has iron.

Sooo...my question is: Is this stuff really necessary for plants? Which combination is the best/safest to use? If you can give me advice or feedback if you've tried any of these, it would be so helpful. I wanna keep my plants happy, but I don't wanna go wasting money on a bunch of stuff I might not need.

The combo that I'm leaning towards is AmQuel, FloraGro +, and Flourish Excel. What do you think?

Thanks a lot for you time!

I don't use supplements on my plants. They seem to do well without it. I would read up about it before you add anything. Try this place.
