I don't have a plec but when I give my fish a slice of cucumber or zuchinni, I would blanch/boil it to soften it, let it cool down, cut it down the middle so they can get at the softer flesh easy and stick a clean fork in it so it won't float and then place it in the tank.

Clean it, peel it, cut it, drop some in to float, put some at the bottom too.][Only Registered Users Can See Links.] ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.)][Only Registered Users Can See Links.] ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.)

Stuck through the wood stump??
With mine, they dont like forks or knives... I think they're scared of it as crazy as that is.
I bought one of those little plastic fish shaped clips that have the suction cup on it. I clamp my fruits and veggies to that and they go to town.

I actually haven't cooked any of the veggies I put in, I didn't know that you did when I first started out and they ate them all without cooking so I just kept not cooking.
I do like mrsfishpatrick and just cut them in half so the fleshy stuff is exposed and stick a fork or knife in it to weight it down.
If it's leafy like spinach or lettuce etc, i actually use a laundry peg to clip to it to weight it down! (but now my kids chuck laundry pegs in there when ever they find one around the house, LOL)

I just kinda cram them down there, where ever they will stay put! He will not get too close if there is anything sticking out of it like a fork. But he will eat food floating on top too, he is talented like that!
