i am going out on a holiday for three days.
can you please advise me on how to feed my fish during this time?
i have bought an auto feeder that can feed small amounts upto 6 times a day.
i have also bought a cube of holiday food but the fish dont seem interested in it.
the amount of food falling from the auto feedr is also not enough as my phiranas and snake heads are consuming it leaving no food for my silver sharks and my chiclids
.....
please advise....

I would cut down on the feedings for 2 days prior to going away.
Give the tank a good water change the night before leaving. (clean gravel)

Then go enjoy your holiday.

When you get back you can feed them.

Fish can go for days without eating if they are in good health.

I've done this for a 18" jardini without any issues.

dont do anything, fish can go for 3 weeks to a month without any affects from no food. 3 days is nothing. holiday feeders and auto feeders can be a pain in the butt, for 3 days theyre fine

This isn't recommended as it would be dangerous for the fish. For example if they are used to being fed twice daily then suddenly starved for a month. it would be a dramatic change.

I agree. A week might be fine but 2-3 is dangerous

Your fish will be fine don't worry at all. Like cocoa said they can go a long time time with out starving them. You have some africans, when a female is holding for say 23 days and does not eat, she is hungry but makes it right? 3 days will be no problem at all.

Your fish would be fine. I would stress more over automatic feeder and holiday feeders.

Those holiday feeders could foul your tank water.Make sure they are well fed beforte you leave and do a w/c.or You could make a few small servings and have a friend feed them once a day.
WARNING!! Friends tend to way over feed!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great holiday!:19:
