The quickest way to get rid of algae that I have found is to turn off the light and not feed for a couple of days. (fish can go several days w/o food) just dont turn on the light. You can also even black out the entire tank. That will speed it up even more

Yes ,stop feeding and keep it dark.I also remove all the decorations and plants and clean them under running water. For real plants I would prep some water for a w/c and wash the plants in that.Do not add it to your tank.

filter floss in your filter will also help take away what is floating around in the water.

They need a bigger tank. A 35 liter tank is way too small for one goldfish, even worse for multiples and especially after a year.

Please read the sticky goldfish article, it should help a lot.

Sometimes water changes can aid in growing algae, as it provides nice oxygenated water. I'd do a water change, keep the pad in the filter, and do a 6 day blackout. Cover the tank completely, taping edges so that absolutely no light gets in. DO NOT PEEK...fish are not fed, but that won't harm them. After 6 days, another water change... remove pads. You need to find the cause of the algae growth, as if the problem is not correcred, it will happen again. Stop any sunlight hitting the tank, keep lights on no more than 8 hours, do not overfeed...
