Betta will not eat the adults but he will take down the young ones.

What they can't eat they'll likely kill

Depends on the betta.... I had one demolish 30 cherry's in a week and the larger ones he just picked to pieces (leg by leg). At the moment though we have the biggest wuse of a betta who we tried it on and he kindly let's them live along beside him and even breed. I hear that they often eat them so it really is trial and error.

It is kind of an expensive trial though :c3:

True that I guess I should have aded the disclaimer likely to pick the adults to death but not always. My betta leaves the adults alone but juvies are food. Maybe he looks at the adults like a ready built snack machine. :-)

I'll add my vote to the "no" side.

We had a Betta imbellis, aka "Peaceful" betta. He tore through a half dozen cherries and as many ghost shrimp. He'd get about one a day ... some of them were never seen again!

Generally speaking, bettas and ... almost anything smaller than they are ... don't mix.
