The guinea pig cage is 3'x3'. Cost $40 to make. $25 for the corrugated plastic (get from sign store, comes in 4'x8' sheet, makes cage up to 3'x7'). The grids are from Target and are part of the little organizer shelf system, $15. The white and grey is the female, the black, brown, and white one is the male. The babies (in the container) wer eher first litter. She had four (good for a first litter), all lived, no stillborns (a good diet makes a world of difference). The only male was the smooth-coated white and grey. The babies were four weeks old when I took them in to my work (when I took these pics).
The finch cage has a stand but I don't use it anymore so that I can see into the nests. It also helps the area a little cleaner. They are all zebra finches. They have raised 6 babies so far, three are about to leave a nest now.

Pretty cool little environment for the piggies. I'll have to get a shot of the one my wife and I built to share.

I used to work in a sign shop and a lady called looking for coroplast for a guinea pig cage... I thought she was crazy but now I get it - very cool!

That is too much cleaning for me. I think the one I have is good for the pair, and babies while they are in there. I had it larger at first, the full 7'x3'. I divided it at first so that I didn't have to chase them 'while I tamed them'. Then I remembered they are guinea pigs and will most likely never come running into my arms. The finch cage was actually in the unused part so that anything they threw out landed in the guinea pig cage, they still managed to make a mess of the wall. So I cut down the cage to what I was actually using and used the extra to make the base for the finch cage the way it is now.

cant remember the bedding, i remember theres cedar, pine, aspen, and some other stuff and that lots can create allergy issues with the animals and i think aspen was the only one that didnt so i used it
i had 4 and one rabbit, but its a long story. i started with 1, then i got the rabbit. i got a 2nd guinea pig, and after a 3rd. i tried puting the rabbit in their huge cage, but he kept eating the longhaired guinea pigs fur and stressing him out.
i had to go away for a month so i boarded them at the small store i bought them at, i bought alot of fish from that store before. when i came back, the guinea pigs didnt look good. i went to the vet, and $2,000 later all but one guinea pig died, the died in about week intervals and the vet said that it was a unknown virus they got. one pulled through though, so i bought it a friend.
after, i found a good home for them with someone my parents had known from work, i gave them away about 3-4 years ago
